In the forest, there were six girls dancing, Abby, Betty, Ruth, Mary Warren, Mercy Lewis, and Tituba. Tituba was waving her arms over the fire while all the girls danced. Reverend Parris caught them dancing naked and was very concerned about this but his niece and daughter were involved so it was kept on the down low.
The setting of Act II was in the Proctor household. They couldn't believe all of the witchcraft that is going on. Mary Warren also went to town and was a part of the court.
And I can't believe Mary Warren went into town and is a part of this.
This whole town is going crazy. Everyone is being accused of witchcraft.
When Abigail is in court, she claims that there is a bird in the rafters and that Mary Warren is there to attack them. Mary eventually gives into pressure and admits to witchcraft.
Fine, if everyone is going to gang up on me then yes, I am with the devil.
I see a bird in the rafters. Mary Warren is trying to attack us all!
YOU ARE GUILTY!!
John Proctor has a verbal confession of being with the devil but when asked to sign the paper, he refuses. He says he can't live his life after signing this paper.
That seals your fate then. Guilty!
I'll never sign this paper for you. I can't go through my life this way. I also won't give anyone else up.
