Storyboard Text

  • Uh Oh! We are almost out of gas! We only have 5 more miles!
  • I'll pull over and check my map.
  • 4 Carlton Drive
  • Lucky Lane
  • 3 Allen Ave
  • The map says that allen ave is 3 miles long, and Carlton drive is 4 miles long, so it will take 7 miles. Wait a minute, we can take Lucky Lane, but the mileage is missing. How can we figure it out?
  • All you need to do is a2+b2=c2. You plug in the 4 and the 3, so 4sq+3sq=Csq.16+9= 25. The square root of 25 is 5, so Lucky Lane is 5 miles long, so we have enough gas to get to the gas station.
  • I can solve this using Pythagorean Theorem!!
  • We made it! Thanks to you, we can go home!
  • The End
