- A long time algo, there was a knight called Arveragus who was in love with a beautiful lady called Dorigen. One day, he ask her marrige, so they married and promised each other love and independance
- One day Arveragus decided to spend a couple of years in England. Dorigen was very sad and cried all time. On some days, she looked at the ships sailing in the sea. On other days, she looked at the huge black rocks and wished they didn't exist because all they did was to destroy ships and kill men
- One day, Dorigen's friends, organised a party. Aurelius, a young squire, was there. He lived near Dorigen and was in love with her, but he had never told her. That nigth, he couldn't control himself and declare his love to her. She rejected him, but then she felt sorry for him and added that she would be her love if he remove all the black rocks from the coast.
- Aurelius become so sick because of his love of Dorigen that he didn't leave his bed for two years. While, Arveragus came back and he and Dorigen started to began to enjoy the happiness of married life. Aurelius told his brother his problems and he, tried to help him. They went to visit a magician who promised Aurelius to make the black rocks dissapear.
- Aurelius said toDorigen that the black rocks had disappeared and know, she had to keep her promise. She didn't know what to do so she tried to kill herself but at the end she couldn't. She told her husband what had happened and he said to her that she had to keep the promise.
- Aurelius saw how much Dorigen was suffering that he pardon her the promise although he would lost her.Then Aurelius went to pay the magician for his help, the magician pardon his debt. Who do you think was the most generous, the knigth, the magician or the squire?
