Polymers at Home

Storyboard Text

  • Hi, everyone! Welcome to another video. This vlog is about my realizations that almost everything we use at home is made of plastic. Today, I saw how my mom uses and disposes them properly and thought I wanted to share it to you, too.
  • First, my mother's non-stick pan which is made of teflon, or poly tetrafluoromethane. She only places food in it and washes it immediately after use.
  • Next are the empty shampoo bottles mad of polyethylene. My mother puts them in one container together and gives it to collectors when they come. That way, the bottles can be recycled.
  • Then these cereal box liners! These are made of high-density polyethylene and my mom also puts them in certain garbage containers together to give it to collectors.
  • My first birthday tarpaulin is still useful until today! Instead of disposing it, my mom just used it as cover for my father's motorcycle. This is an example of polypropylene.
  • Lastly are those coat hangers. They are made of polystyrene and we do our best not to break them. That's all! thank you for watching this video and I hope you follow my tips so we can all take care of the environment together. Bye!
