There was a very strong yet cruel king. He ruled over the city of Urduk. Gilgamesh was harsh to his subjects and gave them harsh punishments. The subjects prayed to gods for help and stop the king's madness.
God sent a man called Enkidu to help the citizens of Urduk. Enkidu challenged the king to a duel after hearing how he treats his subjects.
During the battle, they both realized and started to respect each other for their strength. The match was a tie, and they soon became good friends.
During one of their adventures, they went into the Cedar Forest. They soon encountered a mythical beast called Humbaba. They both quickly tricked the beast. The beast's power was splattered everywhere in Sumer.
Enkidu died and the king was very sad by his close friend's death.
After the king displeased the goddess Ishtar, she sent a Bull of Heaven to ruin the crops. Gilgamesh and Enkidu defeated the bull in the end, but this made the Gods very angry. As punishment, they made Enkidu very sick.
He was afraid that he will also die, so he went on a journey trying to find a way to avoid death. He soon realized he can't avoid his death.
After the journey, he realized he can't cheat death. So he decided to make the best out of his remainder of the time. He became a great and kind ruler. He was loved by all of his subjects.
