  • Rosa Parks, was arrested for refusing to give up her seat in the 'coloured' section of the bus to a white man. 
  • 1st December 1955
  • "don't ride the bus today, don't ride it for freedom"
  • please join our one -day boycott against the Montgomery city buses!!
  • 5th December 1955 around 90% of the African-Americans did not go on the buses.
  • where are all the black people?
  • COLOURED
  • The MIA, with Martin Luther King as leader was created to sustain the boycott
  • 
  • the boycott was so successful so lets continue it!!
  • 5th June 1956 The boycott finally ended after 381 days. 
  • Racially segregated buses violate the 14th Amendment of the U.S Constitution.  
  • The 13-month boycott was one of the earliest and most significant victory in the civil rights movement.
