I was thinking about going to the park and then just wandering around.
Look at that little girl over there! She throws the hoop into the air, it spins, then falls again! I just learned this: that hoop is in uniform circular motion when it is at the zenith of the toss. It spins around its center of mass uniformly then falls once again into the girl's arms!
Now that the hoop is not moving, it has no tangential velocity. I learned that tangential velocity is the velocity at any point on a turning wheel, or in this case, a hoop.
