The rising action is related series of incidents that lead up to the greatest interest. The narrator was spying on the old man for seven nights because he hated the old mans eye and wanted him dead. ¨or it was not the old man who annoyed me. It was his Evil Eye.¨
The climax is a point at which the conflict is resolved and the story outcome is clear or the turning point. The narrator killed the old man and cut off his arms and legs and put his body under the wood planks. ¨His eye would not trouble me no more.¨
The falling action occurs after the climax has been reached and the conflict has been resolved. The three police men had knocked on the narrator door because they had got a complaint about a screen. He let them look around, and they fond nothing. "The scream, I said, was my own. I has been dreaming."
