Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13th, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania
From a young age, Swift began to show interest in performing country music...
Signing and leaving Sony-Owned RCA Records at just 14.
Swift's first taste of gender discrimination in the music industry came in 2006, when she was 17 and opened some shows for "Rascal Flatts". The Flatts have previously fired their previously opening act Eric Church for playing longer than he was allowed to, and hired Swift instead.
Church joked to Swift that she should give him her first Gold Record as a thank you for him getting fired and getting her hired instead, without regarding her own talents. Swift later sent him her first Gold Record, genuinely thanking him for getting fired
As Swift got older, misogyny grew along with her. Soon, she started garnering attention about the men she'd dated instead of her talent, and soon that's all media and interviewers could talk about.
Swift also started getting majorly influenced by the media at this point, both mentally and physically. She fell into severe depression and developed an eating disorder to try and lose weight. "I would exercise but I wouldn't eat".
