Trevor was treated differently than the black kids around his neighborhood. He had more privaliges because he was a mixed race.
These two men were following Trevor because they thought he was white. But then when he spoke the same langauge they realized that he was like them.
He went to a private school called Maryvale. In the school there was no type of segregation, kids from all races were accepted and treated equally.
He moved to another school called H.A. Jack Primary. But in this school the kids were segregated, he became friends with some black kids there but they moved him into a classroom filled with white kids.
He asked the counselor to move him back into the B classes with his friends.
He realized that just because he got along with the white kids doesn't mean he belonged with them.
