My name is Mohammad Ramjan. My father was a British police officer. He chose to go to Pakistan during the partition.
I saw many awful riots occurs. I also saw mobs take people from their homes.
I saw cars and trucks that were filled up with bodies.
At one point, my family and I had to go into hiding for two whole days in a graveyard to be safe.
When the rioting calmed, we moved over to East Pakistan. My Dad took any job he could. He was a taxi driver for a while.
After the war of 1971, we moved to Dhaka to a the Geneva camp. That is where I currently reside.
