Three main groups struggled for power within the government . These three groups were servants, body guards, and government officials
Peasants became angry at the fact that the servants had to much power over the emperor. In 184, these peasants attacked the North China plains in the Yellow Turban Rebellion led by Zhang Jue.
The Yellow Turban Rebellion continued for 20 years and would eventually shape into political chaos. Warlords began to fight each other which brought division through the empire. Finally, the Han Dynasty came to an end.
In the north, military inspector-general Taizu seized the throne. This would be the beginning of the Song Dynasty
After 1127, the northern part of the Song Dynasty was destroyed by the Jin. Luckily, the southern kingdom still remained.
The Silk Road was and still is a huge part in China. It was originally established in the Han Dynasty but reached its peaks and flourished during the Song Dynasty.
