Everyone that owns a paper or sells papers must have a stamp on all of them in order to make sure no one makes any copies and if they do they have to buy a stamp for more tax
The Intolerable Acts 1773
Proclamation act forbade settlers to advance beyond the Appalachian Mountains. But, colonials ignored this and went over the point when there were no Soldiers around. Also, most Indians tribes like the line because they wouldn't have to worry about Colonists going on their territory.
The Townshend Act 1765
The Stamp Act is where Merchants and Lawyers are required to buy stamps for ships' papers and legal documents. The stamp tax isn't what got the colonists upset but it was the fact that you needed to put a stamp on the papers. Patrick Henry called for a repeal of the tax, or the king would face a mutiny.
The Boston Massacre 1770
The reason the Intolerable Acts happened is it was in response to the Boston Tea party and based on what happened they don't want this to happen again. The first thing they did is they closed off the port of Boston so no boats could leave or enter. The second thing they did was that they reduced their self-government. The next thing the did was if you were accused of any crime you would be taken to trail in England. And the last thing they did was that if a soldier came to your door and they asked to stay in your home you would have to say yes or. else they would kick you out of your own house.
The Tea Act and the Boston Tea Party 1773
Charles Townshend was the new exchequer aka the British treasury secretary. He made the quartering act of 1765 which required colonists to provide quarters and supplies for British troops in America meaning that if Brtish soldiers came to your door and they if the asked to stay in your house you would have to say yes and you'd have to give the supplies and a place the stay. THat fact that the colonists had to provide supplies is what made them angry.
When Private Hugh White was outside of the Custom House he got into an argument with colonists. The argument started to get out of hand and more colonists started to show up to and started harassing and throwing things at him. Soon other British soldiers came to "maintain order". Then one of the colonists threw something at a soldier knocking Private Montgomery down and then causing him to shoot into the crowd and soon other soldiers did the same.
The Tea Act & the Boston Tea Party was a protest against the government made by the Colonists. The Protestors ended up boarding 3 trade ships on the Boston Harbor and threw the ship's cargo of tea overboard. They threw a total of 342 chests of tea into the water. The Protestors were Sons of Liberty who dressed up like Indians as a disguise but the British knew it was the colonists, not the Indians. The reason the Boston Tea Party happened was that of the Tea Act which meant they had to pay high taxes on tea but the Colonists refused to pay & wanted the tea returned to Britain.
