  • Scenario Three
  • First, as a young child, my client was himself assaulted by officers who entered his mother’s home in the middle of the night.
  • He was badly injured during the course of this raid. Mr. McFly was both psychically and emotionally scarred following this incident.
  • I truly believe that although he was liable for the burglary, he was startled by the police, causing him to regress and act on impulse, something that was ingrained in him as a child.
  • This killing robbed McFly of the ability to continue to form a proper attachment to his mother, his primary caregiver. According to Bowbly’s Theory of Attachment, it is crucial that a child form a healthy and consistent relationship with their primary caregiver.
  • Adding to the seriousness of this regression, I would like to inform you that McFly’s mother was killed by the police during this raid, although she was ultimately deemed innocent of any wrongdoing.
  • Left without a proper caregiver and forced to live in multiple foster homes throughout his life, this incident not only left McFly with PTSD, it caused him to never develop properly socially or emotionally
