Energy is something that all living things need, it is what your body uses to do anything! (USE SOMEWHERE)
What a nice tree! ... I wonder how it works???
Hi Hedgehog! I am the ghost of nature and stuff!! I'm going to teach you about things!
I love eating grass!
This is where it all starts, with the sun! Most producers, like grass, get energy from the sun. When you eat these, you get 10% of the energy from it, and whatever eats you gets 10% of your energy, and so on and so forth!
This is how energy flows, things eat things for energy that eventually goes into the atmosphere and is lost. This is energy flow. Now, let's compare this to the matter cycles of water, nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus
First the water cycle! We will start in the ocean, the sun heats the water, which evaporates. It forms a cloud through condensation. The water stays there for a while, then through precipitation, it collects and falls as rain. Through collection, it returns to the ocean, ponds, lakes, and then starts over again!
