Five thousand Gilgamesh was the king of Uruk.He was handsome and strong but cruel to his people.The people begged the gods for help then came enkidu.
Enkidu was a wild man who lived in the forest.When he heard of Gilgamesh's cruelty he challenged him in a fight.After the realized they would great friends and they were
Gilgamesh displeased the goddess Ishtar so she sent the bull of heaven to destroy the crops.Gilgamesh and Enkidu killed the beast.The gods were angry so they so they caused Enkidu to get sick and died
Gilgamesh was heartbroken and knew one day he would die too.He soon went on a quest for eternal life.Utnapastim told him there was a plant for youth.
Then a serpent snachted the flower of youth and got away.Gilgamesh lost hope and returned Uruk.He wrote about his adventures.
