Limited monarchy was in charged, which meant there was a king. The colonists did not want to have a a king anymore, so they threw off the rule of a monarchy and replaced it with a government that didn’t have a King.
I want to make lots of changes and not tell anyone, I don't care what they think.
People wanted their natural rights to be protected and wanted them to be respected. John Locke was a major Enlightenment thinker, his version of inalienable rights as life, liberty, and property. He wanted people to do as they please and also speak as the please. People also did not like it when the government would make changes without consulting them with the citizens.

The biggest change was that after the Revolution, Americans came to view themselves as equal to each other.
King Louis XVI had all of the power, and didn’t give the people any say in the changes in the government. The people at this time believed that instead of having each estate vote, each individual person should have the right to vote, influencing the government directly, also known as a direct democracy. The government wasn’t very good at collecting taxes during this time, and only the peasants had to pay the taxes, even though most of them really couldn’t afford to pay it.
The country was in debt at this time, and their was not enough food to go around, so many peasants couldn’t afford food. There was also a huge financial crisis, the economical conditions were not very good during this time.
