Storyboard Text

  • Letter 4
  • Walton first finds Victor, who is on the hunt for the monster. “A being which had the shape of a man, but apparently of gigantic stature, sat in the sledge and guided the dogs.”
  • Ch. 3
  • Victor first talks to Walton about his plans to make the monster. "I will pioneer a new way, explore unknown powers, and unfold to the world the deepest mysteries of creation."
  • Ch. 17
  • The monster then is created and becomes lonely. "You must create a female for me with whom I can live in the interchange of those sympathies necessary for my being." He vows to kill Victor if he doesn't succeed.
  • Ch. 23
  • The monster then goes on a rampage, killing Victor's loved ones. “The death of William, the execution of Justine, the murder of Clerval, and lastly of my wife; even at that moment I knew not that my only remaining friends were safe from the malignity of the fiend”
  • Ch. 24
  • Victor gets sick on his hunt north to find the monster, and dies on Walton's ship. “He pressed my hand feebly, and his eyes closed forever, while the irradiation of a gentle smile passed away from his lips.”
  • Ch. 24
  • After Victor dies, the monster is then in despair. “He sprang from the cabin window as he said this, upon the ice raft which lay close to the vessel. He was soon borne away by the waves and lost in darkness and distance.”
