Storyboard Text

  • Prince Siddhartha Gautama was born in Hindu on the full moon of May.
  • Siddhartha Gautama, formerly known as Buddha, followed in his dad's reign after his death and became the king.
  • As king, he wasn't satisfied with the world and began to ask himself questions...
  • What is life? Why are we here? Is this all there is?
  • One day he thought to himself...
  • So, he left his palace in a guarded carriage and went into the city for the first time since he was born in hopes to make a change.
  • What lies beyond the castle walls?
  • He ventured alone into the alley and encountered an old woman who was wrinkled and toothless, a man lying on the ground eaten by disease and covered in oil, and in a short distance he could see a dead body being carried on a piece of wood followed by people crying in grief as they commenced a funeral.
  • This marked the end of Buddha's innocence.
  • All we do is get old, get ill, and die.
