Today we will be learning about the water cycle.I, Bob the water droplet, will go through this cycle. While I go around it, we will learn various things about the water cycle. Right now I am groundwater, which means what it says, I am water in the ground.
Even though you can not see me I'm still here because of the process called evaporation! Evaporation is the process of water changing state from a liquid to a gas.
Now I'm inside a cloud! Clouds are formed by a process called condensation. Condensation is the water changes state to a liquid. It has a warming effect since it releases heat.
The next part of the cycle is precipitation, in which I come down in the atmosphere to a liquid or a solid, in the form of snow, rain, sleet, or hail. I and my fellow droplets fell in trees and grew up down the tree. This process is called transpiration.
However, we will not be in the river. Some of us are absorbed into the soil and rocks. This process is called infiltration.
Next is runoff. During runoff, I, along with other water droplets, flow off a surface in a stream or river. T his process is called accumulation or when lakes and rivers collect and accumulate the water.
And there you have it, the water cycle! Bye, I have to get ready for the next cycle.
