  • You must set Odysseus free so that he might return home
  • "Can mortals compare with a goddess in grace and form."
  • I still love Penelope.
  • Goodbye.
  • Each day I long for home, long for the sight of home.
  • Hermes tells Calypso that she must give up Odysseus forever.
  • I will devour you and your friends
  • Calypso tries to convince Odysseus to stay with her. She says "Can I be less desirable than she is Less interesting? Less beautiful? Can mortals compare with a goddess in grace and form."
  • Calypso fails to tempt Odysseus in to staying with her. Odysseus then builds a raft and set sail.
  • "Nohbdy will not get out alive"
  • Odysseus is trapped in a cave by a man eating Cyclops with a rock covering the exit. Odysseus uses his smarts to get out of the situation. First Odysseus gives wine to the Cyclops to make him sleepy..
  • My name is Nohbdy
  • While the Cyclops was sleeping, Odysseus used a stick to gouge out his eye rather than just killing him so that he could move the rock that was blocking the exit.
  • zzzzz- Nohbdy has blinded me!
  • Odysseus and his men escape by tying themselves to the bottom of the sheep of the cyclops. Since he is blind, he can not see the men and allows them to go free. Odysseus's life and his men are saved because of his smarts and planning.
