Storyboard Text

  • Just happening to stroll by a Rehab Centre...
  • Yikes this guy ranks of weed...
  • Ten years later, drinking smart with a responsible friend...
  • Yeah dude! Canucks finally get back into the finals...
  • Ha! And get swept and still never win a cup!
  • Once upon a time... Joel somehow found a Princess and marries her?!
  • That was one awesome castle!
  • We also looked at drugs, alcohol and addictions, and of course, making big decisions was a big theme. In some parts, this unit could relate to making good social decisions because most of the time drug addiction starts with a friend or person telling you to try it. It may also be a result of bad relationships, or nothing going right in life, so you get away from it using drugs.
  • Almost summer, 2019...
  • Joel is a pretty amazing student and an even better basketball player and blah blah blah....
  • This unit really opened my eyes on the whole drug and alcohol picture. One side of me can’t wait to be allowed to drink and have some fun with friends, but another part of me wants nothing to do with any of it. This unit helped me to see boundaries and make right choices around drugs and alcohol, and I’ll probably remember them for the rest of my life.
  • I get to fly THIS?! SICK!!!
  • We did a short unit on dating and marriage, and there it was again; the theme of making good decisions. Some ways we learned to make good choices with our relationships were; Don’t date in highschool (even though I probably will despite the fact I just said not to), and be ready and know what you want before you go into marriage. Be patient and don’t rush or force things to happen.
  • "Life's path"
  • Think....
  • And finally, toward the end of the semester we did a big unit on careers, personality traits and looking ahead towards our futures. Some of the biggest decisions we’ll make, are in high school and university or college. This unit was to help us prepare for those big decisions.
  • Some of the big decisions we had to prepare for were things like- What courses should I take in high school so I can work toward what I want to do for a living? What universities give me the best option to complete my goal? It really stretched my mind because I know what I want to be, but there are so many jobs I may have never thought of doing that I could be doing in 10 years.
  • In conclusion, the theme "make good decisions" came up everywhere in this class. It came up in the drugs unit, dating and relationships unit, Cults and religions, and also in the career unit. A lot of what I learned and heard this year in Planning will stick to me through at least the next couple years and help me make the right decisions.
