Excuse me sir, can you explain to me the Earth's atmosphere today compared to 4.5 BYA?
Of course young man, let me start with the atmosphere 4.5 BYA
To start, Earth's atmosphere contained three gases 4.5 BYA which included two deadly gases. Methane and ammonia being the deadly ones and water vapor being the third gas.
Around 3.8 BYA, the solar energy hit those three gases causing a chemical reaction between the solar energy and the gases which created even more gases which were nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide
Then, 3.6 BYA as the solar energy broke down the water molecules that would release more hydrogen atoms and oxygen atoms
As more and more oxygen was released into the atmosphere the levels of ozone began to rise creating a layer in the stratosphere called the ozone layer (which protects us from the sun's UV rays) about 3.5 BYA
At about 2.5 billion years ago scientists thought that the first primordial life was found
Then, as years and years passed at about 1.8 BYA the first complex single celled protists are formed then at about 700 MYA plants started to create food and release oxygen through photosynthesis which requires the sun light.
