Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • The story starts with George and Lydia talking about how their nursery feels different, Lydia wants to call in a psychologist to check it out. Lydia and George Hadley  are the parents of 2 children, Wendy and Peter. George and Lydia are concerned over their kids obsession with Africa. Technology is introduced in the story with the description of their Happylife Home which basically does everything for them and the introduction of the nursery which is a room where all of the children’s thoughts become almost a reality.
  • Falling Action
  • The children become obsessed with the nursery. They love the nursery however they live in a smart house and become extremely lazy due to technology doing everything for them. The conflict is that they spend to much time in an imaginary world instead of living a real life. Technology is taking over their lives.
  • Denouement
  • George decides to lock up the nursery for a while  due to the children's obsession with Africa and the repeated screams that they hear coming from the nursery he plans to take his family on a vacation. The kids throw a tantrum and snap whenever George mentions shutting down the nursery and refuse to even look at him and end up sneaking into the nursery in the middle of the night
  • Takeaway About Tech
  • The psychologist, David McClean shows up at their house to take a look at the nursery and says that what is going on in there is very bad and that he would recommend tearing down that nursery immediately and take the children to therapy in order to repair the children and get rid of their destructive thoughts. George plans on going to a vacation to get away from all the technology in their house but the children want to be in the nursery one last time.
  • The kids call for their parents to go to the nursery and once the parents are inside, they trap them with the lions waiting to eat them alive. The lions eat the parents alive and vultures fly down to scoop up the scrapes. This shows how technology may get out of hand and is much more powerful than we may think. The lions are supposed to be fake and just a visual but the story describes it as if it was real.
  • We should limit our use of technology in our daily lives because it can be very dangerous and overwhelming at some times. Technology is becoming a real danger and could eventually consume our minds and thoughts if we aren’t careful or smart about it.  Since technology continues to improve, we need to learn to limit our uses or else we can become crazy.
