Tom is holding a yellow paper that he has been working on for months that has a layout of the store that wil get him a raise.
I should've never came out here.
The yellow paper with all of his hard work flew out the window and landed on the ledge outside of his high up apartment. He then realizes going out there to get it is the only solution.
Tom slides easily along the wall, 11 stories above Lexington Avenue, until he reaches the corner. He straddles the ledges of the two walls, and scrapes his head against the wall as he stoops down to pick up the paper. However, as he bends down and grabs the paper, he sees the street below between his feet and suddenly is seized by panic. He jerks upward suddenly and almost loses his balance.
He grabs the paper and realizes this is a terrible idea and slowly goes back to his apartment room only to realize the window is stuck closed. He tries to yell for help but gives up. He now knows he should not have went out there to get the paper.
He then breaks open the window shouting his wife's name. and gets back inside.
He is back in his home safe and sound and he leaves the paper on his desk. then the paper flies back out of his window and Tom laughs, and goes to meet his wife at the movie theater.
