My name is Razea. For as long as I can remember, I have been a dreamer. I always knew I I wanted to be something, or someone. I was not exactly sure what I wanted to be but I knew I needed an education to do so.
Thanks... I guess
As I grew up my dream never died. I worked very hard as a student especially because I was a woman in Saudi Arabia and I knew the challenges that lied ahead of me. Everyone I knew, even my own father, did not believe in me.
That is great darling.
Look dad! I can finally go to college!
The fact that no one believed in me made me even more driven. I knew the odds were not in my favor seeing that Saudi Arabia had the lowest women labor rates.
I graduated high school at the top of my class and I thought I was college bound. During this time however, The Shah was still in control and women were still looked at as less with 50 percent of women being kept from universities.
After the Islamic Revolution, things really started to change for women and I was back on track with my dream.
I was now able to go to college and i was looked at as just the same as everyone else who attended the university. I later graduated with a business degree and got myself straight into a job.
