The maze Runner Thomas "Look at that shank, he looks like klunk in a t-shirt" (Dashner 2) At first the gladers treated Thomas like any other new person, bad.
Thomas is average in most physical aspect except he is in great shape because he is a runner and he even says that he does not now how he is in such good shape. "Was that his body was in perfect shape"(Dashner 185).
Thomas's strongest trait is that he is very brave. All throughout the book he has been putting himself at risk and doing things that no one else dared to to."I didn't do anything wrong. All I know is I saw two people struggling to get inside these walls and they couldn't make it. To ignore that because of some stupid rule seemed selfish, cowardly, and...well, stupid. If you want to throw me in jail for trying to save someone's life, then go ahead. Next time I promise I'll point at them and laugh, then go eat some of Frypan's dinner." (Dashner 166). Here thomas put himself in major danger from the greivers and breaks a major rule to save people.
One moment in the beginning of the novel Thomas shows he is brave by going in the maze at night to save Minho and Alby. And even when Minho ran Thomas helped Alby and secured him on a vine on the wall so he was safe from the grievers. "He learned a lot about himself. About Thomas that was before. He couldn't leave a friend behind". (Dashner 119). He says this when he was in the maze, he knew he could not let Alby just die.
In the middle of the book while the doors did not close and the grievers where attacking they took a kid and Thomas went and ran after them to save him and he got stung many times. Even though his whole purpose was not to save the kid he also did it to get stung so he can get more information and go through the changing. "Thomas jumped on the one holding dave, trying to jerk the kid free, hoping the creature would retaliate" (Dashner 294).
In the end of the book while Thomas, Teresa, and Chuck jumped down the greiver hole and Teresa is putting in the code then a griever comes in and tries to kill them so thomas fights it and actually kills the griever with his spear. "Maybe I can hold it off," (Dashner 344). Thomas said this when the griever came in and tryed to stop them but he held them off and saved basically everyone because if he did not get that griever than it would of stopped Teresa and Chuck from putting the code in and the grievers would not have of shut down.
