  • Why should non-colonists across an entire ocean be able to tell us what to do?!
  • They shouldn't, so lets just settle past the Appalachians anyways
  • Sugar Act- will now tax non-British goods
  • Why though? Is there a reason for this?
  • *Thinking* More money for my King and Queen across the Ocean!
  • MEMO Stamp Act:  Colonists must  buy a stamp for every piece of paper used
  • Yet another pointless and unwarranted tax! Is this a joke??
  • Proclamation of 1763- Colonists could not settle west of the Appalachian Mountains
  • The King and Queen are the full authority of these colonies and can make whatever rules they'd like!
  • Why?! They have never been here and are nowhere near here! This is our land!
  • Sugar Act, 1764- Sugar and other non-British imports will be taxed
  • I say we boycott this act! No colonists purchase anything in this and wait for them to change it.
  • We cannot allow the British to think they can tax us like this constantly. We must protest again!
  • Stamp Act, 1765- Colonists must purchase a stamp for every piece of paper used.
  • Declaratory Act, 1766- Statement stating that Britain has and will continue to own and lead these colonies and has full right to make laws and have done what they want.
  • Townshend Acts, 1767- Custom duties on British glass, leads, papers, and tea. Colonists saw this as a secret tax so they boycotted this peacefully.
  • Boston Massacre, 1770- Unarmed citizens were shot at and killed by British soldiers during a peaceful protest, five colonists were killed. News rapidly spread and upset colonists.
