Not tonight David, you need to study for your exam.
Hey Mom, do you think I can hang out tonight with my friends at the park?
Not fair! I never get to go anywhere I want.
You can another night, just not tonight.
I am going to sneak out and hang out with my friends tonight.
David and his mother are discussing, David going out with his friends to the park, but his mom says no.
I am sorry, I really wanted to go and I finished all of my studies tonight.
I am sorry Mom, I shouldn't have disobeyed you.
David is upset and angry that he can not go. David feels like it is not fair and nothing ever goes his way. David decides to march upstairs to his room.
David angrily plunders to himself about disobeying his mother and sneaking out to see his friends. David walks out of his room and sneaks out the back door.
Go out and enjoy the night with your friends and be careful!
Davids mom catches him sneaking out and is very angry with him. Davids' face turns red as soon as he sees his mother standing outside the back door waiting on him. David is shocked and wants to apologize.
You should have asked me again before you chose to sneak out.
They both agree that they were a little harsh on each other. In his apology, David did acknowledge the fact that his mother told him that he could not go to the park with his friends but he tried to anyway. Davids'mother did accept Davids' apology.
It's okay David, I am sorry for being harsh.
The two forgive each other and work out a resolution to the problem. Davids' mom allows David to go out with his friends. The lesson learned from this story is, it always pays to ask before you do something and if they say no the first time, it never hurts to ask again.
