One day the Priests of Oedipus came to him for guidance considering the plague that was around the city. He takes charge and sends Creon to the Oracle to see what the gods want to do.
Creon comes back with the news that the gods want all the corruption in the kingdom to be gotten rid of. Oedipus asks Creon to get more, so Creon brings a Blind Prophet named Tiresias
Tiresias comes to Oedipus and says that Oedipus is the reason for the plague and the corruption of the kingdom. This makes Oedipus extremely angry and upset and orders Tiresias to leave immediately. He claims that Creon set him up and wants him out.
Creon explains to Oedipus that he has all the power he could want and doesn't want him removed from power. Oedipus believes him and continues looking for clues on who the killer is and asks his wife and the former wife of King Laius, Queen Jocasta.
Jocasta Explains where King Laius was killed, Oedipus remembers this and realizes that he killed someone that matched the description of King Laius. Oedipus' fears grow larger. Jocasta asks for someone to retrieve the Shepard that survived the attack
A messenger from Corinth tells Oedipus and Jocasta that King Polybus has died and that Queen Merope wants Oedipus to rule. He then says that Queen Merope wasn't his real mother anyway so there is no way the prophecy could come true, But the prophecy is true Oedipus and Queen Jocasta realize.
