Monsters are Due on Maple Street
"Lets not be a mob" "We are all on monster kick, Les seams under the impression that people are not who you think they are."
None of us are as smart as all of us. -Ken Blanchard
Figure One: Understand the procedure now? Just stop a few of there machines and radios and telephones... throw them into darkness for a few hours, and then sit back and watch.
At the end of the story Figure Two says "then I take it... this Maple Street.. is not unique." This shows most neighbors turn against each other when they have to come together to make decisions instead of working together.
I believe that this is the best theme becasue it shows that when everyone puts their brains together it make one "big brain" which is smarter that one.
When Steve says "lets not be a mob" I think that he means lets not be and unorganized group that makes impulsive decisions that end up bad in the long run. This directly relates back to the theme because when you work together most of the time better decisions are made.
When the neighbors begin to turn against each other they make not so good decisions which hurt them as a group.
