  • In the Battle of Bull Run, the North went up to the capital of the newly succeeded South to fight them. The North thought that this would be an easy victory, but they were wrong. The South fought back and the North had to retreat.
  • The Battle of Antietam was one of the worst battles of the Civil War. A lot of people died that day and both sides of the war realized that war is a real thing and that here will be consequences for what happened.
  • The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the war for both northerners ad southerners. The South had come to take one of the unions cities but the North decided to fight strongly and they defended the city. After the battle Abraham Lincoln gave a speech remembering the people that had died.
  • The Battle of Vicksburg completed most of the Anaconda Plan for the North. General Grant wanted to split Confederacy in half and control the Gulf of Mexico to block south. The North wanted to separate the South into parts, and they succeeded in that in several battles that they had fought and won.
  • After a couple more battles, the South met up with the North and they surrendered, ending the Civil War in the process.
