  • Hoop Dreams Beginning
  • In this book there is 2 protagonists Arthur Agee and William Gates. The characters are both really good at basketball and go to a really good private school that Isiah Thomas went to. The boys both got scholarships because there parents couldn't pay for it. Arthur Agee struggles and looses his scholarship. His dad turns to drugs and leaves and his mom hurts her back so she can't work. 
  • Hoop Dreams Middle
  •  In the middle of the book the boys struggle in school and are not passing in lots of classes Arthur Agees dad comes back and says that he will quit now and be the father that he wanted to be. The family turns to God and become religious. Arthur's mom goes back to school to be a nurse and graduates. William Agee is winning games for his team and he hurt his leg in a summer camp when he is 17. He has a lot of help because of how good he is and gets a sholarship to the school that he has always wanted to go to.
  • Hoop Dreams End
  • Williams team ends there regular season doing good but William is playing really bad. In the playoffs they blow by the first 2 teams and they face a tough team William had the chance to win the game and fails. Arthur has been playing really good and they blow by all the teams to go "downstate". The team does really good all the way to the championship and faces obviously the best team and Arthur misses the game winning shot but it is okay for him because he got a scholarship to a school that isn't a D1 school or 4 year because of his grades. William has good enough grades to go to a D1 school and does

  • The protagonists in this story are really athletic and are good  at basketball. For William he never really new his dad he only sees him every couple of months. Arthur had it pretty good when he was young because both of his parents had jobs and they even lived in the nice part of the city but when his parents lost there job they barely kept the rent on the apartment. William had a good job with the owner of Webster Dictionary because the owner is the one that is sponsoring  him. Arthur had a job at Pizza Ranch and made little money.

  •  The climax of the book for William is when he hurt his leg and was rushed to the doctor.  For Arthur the climax was in the championship when Arthur had the chance to win the game for his team but failed to score the points for his team.
  • The author of the book Didn't want the book to just end good he wanted t show how they actually did struggle. The author is Ben Joravsky.
