The Loss of a Phone and a Life

It was a normal afternoon. Ben had 35 minutes to take his lunch break. He left his office and decided he would got to his favorite sandwich shop and get a panini. He was in a hurry to get there since he lost 10 minutes when the elevator got stuck.
Ben was running with such focus of getting to the sandwich shop he did not even notice when his cellphone fell from his pocket. He also did not notice the shady unkempt man who reached down and picked his phone up intending on keeping it for himself.
His heart dropped when he went in his pocket to get his wallet and he realized he had dropped his phone. He looked back and saw the man walking away fast, and looking behind him frequently. He ran after the man in an attempt to get his phone back.
When he finally caught up with the man he yelled at him relentlessly to return his phone or else he would call the police. He took note of the man since he planned to report him to the police once his phone was returned. The man smelled of old fish. His hair was greasy and unkempt as if he had never seen a shower. He seemed to be looking off into space.
The man had a smirk as he reached into his pocket, but without any warning the man pulled a knife out of his pocket and stabbed Ben in the neck.The man then reached into ben's pocket and took hi wallet and car keys as Ben twitched on the floor like he was having a seizure.
A ambulance showed up to save Ben, but the paramedics and Ben were run over by a drunk bus driver and died instantly. The police never caught the man who stabbed Ben bu on the aniversary of the day Ben was stabbed his wife and son went to his grave, and saw a cellphone.
