  • Scout at School
  • Tell your father to stope teaching you how to read.
  • "He hasn't taught me anything, Miss Caroline."pg.22
  • Catching Walter
  • Calpurnia's Talk
  • Scout gets mad and lets the teacher be known that her father didn't teach her anything. This might be when Scout develops an attitude and the teacher thinks shes talkng back.
  • Snow Day
  • Scouts character develops this violence for fighting and way of settling things. She is bigger than most boys so she beats them up. "Catching Walter Cuningham in the schoolyard gave me some pleasure, but when I was rubing his nose in the dirt Jem came by and told me to stop." pg.30
  • Family Reunion
  • Sout doesn't understand that some people are different. When she sees Walter eat in that matter she looks at him like an animal. Scout realizes that it is not polite when Calpurnia speaks to her. "There are some folks that who don't eat like us..." pg.32
  • Scouts Attire
  • It snows in Maycomb for the first time in a long time but not that much snow rains down. Scout and Jem form a plan to get snow from their neighbors to build a snowman. This shows the clever minds of Scout and Jem, coming together to get things done. "I know what, we can go walk over at Miss Maudie's." pg.87
  • Scout has developed a cussing habit and says damn all the damn time. Her uncle Jack is trying to make her stop. This shows that Scout is maturing at such a young age and using a vareity of new words. "You're also growing out of your pants a little." pg.105
  • Scouts Aunt Alexandra thinks Scout should act more like a lady. She needs to stop curssing and dress more feminine. Scout refuses which shows her character wanting to be one of a kind and not being a follower like other people. "Aunt Alexandra was fanatical on the subject of my attire." pg.108
