- This is Ashoka, his empire was headquartered in Maghanda. Ashoka was seen as a brutal ruler, conquering many countries,. When Kalinga refused to bow down to Ashoka, it ended up in a war.
- Why will you not bow down to me! This is war!
- He went to war with Kalinga, the battle would be named, "The Bloody Battle of Kalinga". 100,000 of the Kalinga Soldiers Died in the battle.
- Ashoka was very moved by the battle because of the devastation he had caused. The burned houses he burnt down and the corpses that laid there.
- What am I doing? I just killed so many people, and 10,000 of my men are dead...
- What have I done?!
- Ashoka turned to Buddhism, and embraced its message.
- Hinduism is now the state religion! And for my next order, let's fix up this place!
- Ashoka built many stupas, universities, and the hadass. He also built water transits, and irrigation systems to improve trade and agriculture. Ashoka built hospitals, and renovated many roads. He treated his subjects more equally.
