  •  Nobles had the most power of the social classes.  Nobility included hereditary nobility.
  • Nobles were also knights
  • The clergy was not considered one of the social classes, but it did play an important and influential role at the time and did have a hierarchy of its own.  
  •  Peasants were mainly agricultural farmers who worked in lands that were owned by a lord. The lord would rent out his land to the peasants in exchange for economic labor.  
  •  The middle class was, Merchants, bankers, and trades people , they also formed merchants guilds. They were well off in the middle ages.
  • Royalty was the highest class there was.
  • slaves were the lowest class there was.
