Warning and preparation for the flood (Gn 6:5-6:22)
The important event in (Gn 6:5-6:22) is the warning of the flood and preparation for the flood. The first thing that happens is god saw how horrible humans were on earth; they let their actions be consume by sin. Sin has gotten out of control. God knew he had to wipe out all living life from the earth. Next he let Noah know due to him being close to god; to build an ark to protect himself and his family. Finally he asked to send 2 animals per species: one male and one female, in the ark. In addition, he said to provide food for himself and his family. A life lesson we can learn from this passage is to stop sins before they happen.
"When the Lord saw how great the wickedness of human beings was on earth, and how every desire that their heart conceived was always nothing but evil, the Lord regretted making human beings on the earth, and his heart was grieved," (Gn 6:5-6:6).
"So the Lord said: I will wipe out from the earth the human beings I have created, and not only the human beings, but the animals and the crawling things and the birds of the air, for I regret that I made them. But Noah found favor with the Lord," (Gn 6:7-6:8).
"Make yourself an ark of gopherwood, equip the ark with various compartments, and cover it inside out with pitch,"(Gn 6:14). "I will establish my covenant with you. You shall go into the ark, you and your sons, your wife
