mitosis is the procedure in which a single cell organism splits into 2 cells
the first stage of mitosis which is called prophase is the longest stage of this process
the second phase is called the metaphase, in this phase microtubules of the spindle have attached and have lined up on the metaphase plate.
the third phase is the anaphase, in this phase, It ensures that duplicated chromosomes, or sister chromatids, separate into two equal sets.
the fourth and final phase is called the telophase. during this stage the chromosomes accumulate at inverse ends of the cell and lose their particular bar like shapes.
