  • mitosis is the procedure in which a single cell organism splits into 2 cells
  • the first stage of mitosis which is called prophase is the longest stage of this process
  • the second phase is called the metaphase, in this phase microtubules of the spindle have attached and have lined up on the metaphase plate.
  • the third phase is the anaphase, in this phase, It ensures that duplicated chromosomes, or sister chromatids, separate into two equal sets.
  • the fourth and final phase is called the telophase. during this stage the chromosomes accumulate at inverse ends of the cell and lose their particular bar like shapes.
