Maybe he can use a neck brace to keep his head up while reaching in the cabinets gathering supplies to cook.
That is a great idea! I will look it up right now and make sure insurance can cover it!
During this visit, I was able to witness an initial evaluation/assessment from start to finish. I was able to view how the PT goes through their checklist of what they need to glean from the patient. I saw that very little questions were asked about the patient and how their injust inhibits their daily life functions.
I was able to ave an open conversation with the client asking them about their day and how they are able to move around their home with their injury. (knee replacement) During this time, I was able to talk about Occupational Therapy, which they found intriguing.
At the end of each day, my supervisor sits down with me and review the patients that we observed. I was able to weigh in on a patients treatment by suggesting a modality to help improve posture and function within his daily life. Fieldwork is great so far!
