In the exposition, the myth introduces us two three characters, the King, Daedalus, and Icarus on the island of Crete.
In the first event of the rising action, the King asks Daedalus to build him a new Castle with a dungeon like a labyrinth and Daedalus builds it.
In the second event of the rising action, Daedalus finds out what was in the middle of the labyrinth and wants to leave Crete. However, the king will not allow him to leave Crete as he knows the secret of the labyrinth and he begins to start collecting feathers to fly out of Crete with.
Icarus and Daedalus fly out of Crete but Icarus flies too close to the sun and the wax holding the feathers together starts to melt.
Icarus begins to fall into the sea and Daedalus can not doing anything but watch.
Icarus falls into the water and the feathers float to the top of the sea and readers are left to make an inference if Icarus lives or not.
