  • The exposition started when the children started picking up some stones and made a great pile of stones in one corner and guarded it.
  • CLIMAX
  • The conflict started when Tessie Hutchinson realizes that Bill is the one who has the paper with the black dot.Tessie begins to yell that it isn't fair,and Bill wasn't given enough time to choose the paper.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • The rising action started when the entire Hutchinson family are called up to the box.Mr.Summers put five slips of paper into the box,including the one Bill Hutchinson was holding.
  • RESOLUTION
  • The climax started when each paper of the Hutchinson family are blank,except for Tessie's,which has a black dot on it.
  • The falling action started when the villagers form a circle around Tessie and started picking up some stones to throw it to Tessie.
  • The resolution started when the villagers descend upon Tessie with the stones and be stoned Tessie to death.
