  • Hey! Do you know the Triangle Inequality Theorem?
  • Well, I'm going to explain what this awesome theorem consists of, pay attention!
  • No...
  • Before we begin to explain this awesome theorem, we need to know our objectives for this lesson! It is known as lesson 5-5 The Triangle Inequality and our objectives are: 1. Use the Triangle Inequality Theorem to identify possible triangles. 2. Prove triangle relationships using Triangle Inequality Theorem
  • Now that we know our objectives, we need to review the vocabulary of this lesson: 1. The Triangle Inequality- While a triangle is formed by 3 segments, a special relationship must exist among the lengths of the segments in order for them to form a triangle. 2- Triangle Inequality Theorem- The sum of the length of any 2 sides of a triangle must be greater than the length of the third side.
