  • Anyone can suggest an idea for a law.However, only a Member of Congress can take a proposed law to the House of Representatives or the Senate.
  • How can a bill become a law?
  • A member of the House or Senate drafts a bill and they submit the bill to the House or Senate.
  • What happens first?
  • First is"The Subcommittee" where people study bills related to a subset of the topics covered by the standing committee.
  • What does a bill have to go through to  become a law
  • Then "The Standing Committee" where The committee discusses the bill and then "The Floor" where the bill is placed on the calendar of the House or Senate until it is scheduled for discussion.
  • Anyone can suggest an idea for a law.However, only a Member of Congress can take a proposed law to the House of Representatives or the Senate.
