One night the queen dreamt a white elephant entered her womb. The King and Queen then have a son and name him Siddthara.
We'll name him Siddthara.
Holy men came to see his son. One predicted he would be a great ruler or a religious leader. The King was told if his son saw these four things: an old man, a sick man, a corpse and anascetic, he would be a spiritual leader. The King decided to surround his son with luxuries so he would become a great ruler.
Siddthara will be a great ruler or religious leader.
Although he had everything he needed,he was not happy. He wandered outside the palace and there he saw the things the holy man predicted. Siddhartha realized that he was not happy with his current life. He ran away from the palace, leaving his wife and son. He renounced all the luxuries he was accustomed to.
I renounce all luxuries to find meaning in life.
For the next six years, Siddhartha lived an ascetic life. He studied and meditated. With all the sacrifices he was making, he still could not reach the level of satisfaction he was looking for.
I'm still not satisfied.
Siddhartha realized that living under harsh conditions was not going to give him the spiritual release he was looking for. He started to follow another path. It was called the Middle Way.
Suffering is not the answer.
That night Siddhartha sat under the Bodhi tree vowing to not move until the truth he seeks comes to him. Siddhartha was able to see the answer to the questions he was seeking. This is when Siddhartha become the Buddha.
