  • Do you want to know how the cell theory developed?
  • Sure!
  • Okay! The first cell observed was discovered by an english scientist named Robert Hooke. He discovered a honeycomb-like structure in a cork slice under a primitive compound microscope. Hooke only saw the cell walls which was dead tissue. He named it a cell because if the individual compartments that he saw.
  • Woah!! that's a lot of information!

  • Uhhh not really but whatever.
  • Do you know anything about cell?
  • Well... I know that in 1670 The first living cell was seen by a Dutch biologist named Anton Van Leeuwenhoek.
  • Mattias Jakob Schleiden proposed that all plant tissues are composed of cells.

  • Then Theodor Schwann reached the conclusion thata nnot only plants, but animal tissues are also composed of cells!
