Ok class today we will be learning about persuasive texts!
Oh, thanks Marci!
What are persuasive texts?
Take a look at the board Mary. There is a lot of information on there.
Persuasive texts are texts or writing that tries to convince the reader to buy or believe something. They do this to change people's mind, keep the reader interested, earn money, support a cause, be best sellers, and make readers buy a product. They do this by adding a free gift or buy 1 get 1 free, advertisements, humor, and Hollywood celebrities or favorite characters, and strong emotions.
Here is an example of a persuasive text. (This isn't true) Did you see that new awesome face cream for only $2. It is AMAZING by keeping you pimple free and is PERFECT for dry and oily skin. If you buy it, you will get 1 free and a $20 gift card to Walgreens! Hurry up and buy it before it runs out!!!
So, class after reading the board I have hoped you have learned a lot more about persuasive texts!
