  • Theseus, duke of Athens, is preparing for his marriage to Hippoyta, queen of the Amazons. During the festival Egeus goes to see Theseus with is daughter Hermia and two young men Demetrius and Lysander. Egeus wishes Hermia to marry Demetrius, but Hermia is in love with Lysander. Theseus tells Hermia to consider her wedding options, and says"you'll ever be executed or you'll never see another man again. So think carefully about what you want, beautiful Hermia."
  • Hermia still escapes from Athens with her love Lysnader. However, before she does, she tells her friend Helena, who is in love with Demetrius. Helena thinks telling Demetrius of their escape in hopes of regaining his love. They all end up running into the woods after one another. However there are unaware of a band of fairies led by Oberon the fairy king and Titania his queen who returned from India to bless Theseus's wedding .
  • In the woods,Oberon orders Puck to make Demetrius fall in love with Helena but accidentally makes Lysander fall in love with Helena. While trying to fix the issue, he makes Demetrius fall for her too. Now everyone loves Helena and no one loves Hermia. Helena is confused and thinks both men are making fun of her."Nobody's ever gone to so much trouble just to make fun of someone".
  • With Demetrius and Lysander fighting over Helena, and Hermia mad at Helena, Oberon orders Puck to fix his mistake. Puck manages to separate them all by mimicking their voices and separating them in the forest l so they don't end up killing each other. Once they fall asleep, Puck reverses the spell and rights his wrong.
  • While riding in the forest, Theseus and Hippolyta discover the sleeping lovers in the forest to take them back to Athens to be married during their wedding ceremony - Demetrius now loves Helena and Lysnader loves Hermia .
  • In the end, everyone is married to their true loves and live happily ever after. After the group wedding the lovers watch Bottom and his Fellow craftsmen perform their hilarious version of “Pyramus and Thisbe”.The fairies come and bless the sleeping couples. Puck ends the play by asking the audience for it's forgiveness and approval and to remember the play as if it were a dream!
