  • Kazi Shamsuzzaman born in Jadavpur, British India
  • In 1946 a riot occurred where 8 people died, it would be known as Direct Action Day
  • YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE JHOTI
  • The houses were looted and burnt down, the people tried to salvage what they could and were only left with what they could carry, the women fled with only their jewelry on them
  • Kazi and his father made their best effort to get out alive, as Kazi escaped and hid in a tree his father took shelter in the graveyard
  • In 1947, they arrived in Dhaka, where they were poor and disctiminated against frequently being called "ghoti"
  • Kazi ended up finishing his education and becoming an insurance agent
