French & Haitian Revolution
This storyboard does not have a description.
King Louis XVI raised bread prices due to crop failure. This enraged the peasants and caused them to steal bread from bakeries.
HEY, MY BREAD!
The peasants were finally fed up with the King raising the bread prices and taxes. The peasants stormed the bastille but didn't find the King and Queen. They finally found them in disguise as peasants. They then sent them to death by a guillotine
Have mercy, please!
Oh man up would you!?
France was then lead by Napoleon Bonaparte, who lead the French Revolution to success. He changed the political system of France from a monarchy to a republic.
The slaves were tired of their masters treating them cruelly. The slaves desired for blacks and multi-racial people to be treated equally and with respect.
Work slave, or I'll have to hang you!
The slaves asked for equality and to be treated respectfully. The whites were discussed by the slaves' demand and ignored the topic. This enraged the slaves. The slaves burned the sugar cane fields and killed hundreds of slave owners.
After the revolt, Saint Domingue became the first state to be run by slaves. Their leader, Toussaint L'overture helped their revolution become successful by fighting off the French and the British from taking over Saint Domingue. Unfortunately Toussaint was arrested and was taken to France to rot and die in jail.
